Getting Inspiration from such a disaster, Sony has a introduced a gadget that would help companies run their operations for sometime (a few hours) without electricity, yeah, it is a massive battery.

Sony Japan, recently announced ESSP-2000, a battery that weighs 90Kg whose 2.4kWh of power should help government agencies and large businesses carry on their operation for a few hours or so during a blackout or a disaster.

The battery can support a maximum load of 1000VA and can recharge to 95% in about two hours which is pretty fast, this olivine-type lithium-ion iron phosphate battery could last up to 10 years, claims Sony.

It won't come cheap, it would cost ¥2 million (1.15 million rupees), well, that's not a hefty price to pay for large corporations.
