G-Technology G-CONNECT Wireless Storage and WiFi Access Point

G-Technology, part of Hitachi, introduces its new G-CONNECT, a hybrid device that combines wireless storage with wireless WiFi access point. The G-CONNECT is a 500GB storage device with WiFi connectivity allowing users to access and stream content to their smartphones and tablet devices, including iPhone and iPad. When connected via Ethernet LAN connection, the G-CONNECT will then become a WiFi access point for up to five WiFi-enabled devices.

The G-CONNECT offers flexible access via iPad/iPhone mobile apps, multiple browsers, PC, Mac, DLNA-certified connected TVs and Apple TV with AirPlay and provides password protection to keep users’ content safe. It can wirelessly stream up to five SD or three HD movies at the same time.

The G-Technology G-CONNECT 500GB wireless storage comes in a sleek white design and is priced at $199.99.

Archos Arnova 7 7-inch Android Tablet costs $99

Archos launches its Arnova 7 Android tablet that costs just $99. The 7-inch device runs Android 2.2 Froyo OS. With such price point, don’t expect capacitive touchscreen. The Arnova 7 has a 7-inch 800×4800 resistive touchscreen and supports WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity. It can handle H.264, MPEG-4, RealVideo video playback up to 720p resolution at 30fps.

Finally, Nokia brings the first MeeGo-based smartphone, the N9. The N9 is a pure touchscreen phone without any front-facing buttons at all and all the operations are done with simple gesture, a swipe of the finger. You can unlock the phone by just double-tapping the screen.The phone has an one-piece unibody design and will be available in black, cyan and magenta colors.

The Nokia N9 features a 3.9-inch 854×489 AMOLED touchscreen with curved Gorilla glasses, a 8 Megapixel auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss 28mm wide angle lens, dual LED flash and 720p HD video recording capability, a front camera for video chat, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS support and Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. The MeeGo phone is powered by TI’s OMAP 3630 ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor, PowerVR SGX530 graphics and 1GB of memory. It runs MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan.

Nokia’s new N9 comes with built-in support for NFC and includes Dolby Headphone and Dolby Digital Plus for enhanced audio. It comes in16GB and 64GB models.
