Archos announced two new Tablet PCs running on Android v3.1 Archos revealed their plans to launch two new tablet PCs running on the upcoming version of Android OS i.e. v3.1 (Ice Cream) in Paris. Archos 80 G9 and 101 G9 would have almost identical features, the only difference would be screen size and display resolution.  80 G9 Tablet PC from Archos Archos 80 G9 Tablet PC would have 8-inch panel with a 1024 x 768 screen resolution and Archos 101 G9 Tablet PC would have 10.1-inch screen in size with 1280 x 800 screen resolution. One of the more interesting thing about these new tablets from Archos is that they are going to have a 250GB storage due to Seagate's ultrathin (7mm) range of Momentus Thin HDD, probably made just for Tablet PCs. This HDD would need a lot of power of its operation, I just hope that these new tablets from Archos have at least 6 hours of battery life if not 8 hours like on Apple iPad 2 (more about iPad 2 [here]) or Motorola Xoom (more about Moto Xoom [here]). The world is hungry for power, therefore Archos has put in a dual-core OMAP 4 processor (1.5GHz ARM Cortex A9), it would process you apps and games faster than you can imagine, I hope it makes loading of apps as fast as Mozilla Firefox 5 Beta Version loads on my PC. It would also have support for Flash, access to the Android Market and a full-size USB port (supports wireless 3G WWAN stick ($49)). Other than that, these new Tablet PCs from Archos offer HDMI output, support for 1080p playback and a pay-as-you-go option with 3G dongle. Both the tablets are expected get launched for sale in September this year, Archos 80 G9 would be selling for $279 and the 101 G9 for $349. By that time, there would be several other companies preparing to launch Ice Cream/Sandwich upgraded version of their Tablet PCs.
