Fruit Ninja HD Lite – Available for Free on Intel AppUp Store – Review

After reading my previous two reviews of Angry Birds and Chicken Invaders 4 you must have understood that I love playing casual video games on my PC and today I am going to review another famous iOS casual game that has been made available for Windows via Intel AppUp Store – Fruit Ninja HD Lite.

Basic Intro

Fruit Ninja HD Lite is a fun, casual game, developed by Halfbrick Games, it was initially developed for iOS devices but after gaining a lot of popularity among people on various platforms, it has been adopted for Windows platform. Halfbrick Games is also responsible for creating other popular iOS casual games like Monster Dash, Age of Zombies, Raskulls and Aero Racer.

I watched a review of this fun and entertaining casual game on a television program Technoholik, I found it a pretty basic game whose main purpose was to entertain, there was no rocket science in the gameplay.

Storyline

Ninja lives an alternative lifestyle, he is trained in most hostile conditions, his daily training is a torture for mortal beings, he learns to sleep with bats among trees, he learns to hide inside the bushes like a grasshopper, he tackles human needs of food and water for months, he separates himself from money, fame and sex, he trains his reactions to the extent that they become sharper and deadlier than lightening, that's who you are in this game… Annoyed and also you are mastered by pretty crazy sensei who has asked you to use years of your efforts for slashing fruits Surprised smile.

Gameplay

Fruit Ninja HD Lite's Gameplay is entertaining, Fruits are thrown up with forces, in multiplicity and you have to use all your reflexes to slash your blade of awesomeness through the juicy matter inside those devilish fruits. You, actually thought that was all? well, think again, the devil has planned your fate in advance, he gives you chances to score well with combos of three, four and awesome five but also packs surprise bombs within the flurry of fruits, hit them once and your dream to become to become the fiercest Ninja in whole of mankind would vanish like Nebula did a zillion years ago.

Every great teacher has a greater teacher, Ninja Sensei has the revival power, absorbing his revival energy, you can try the Classic mode for n number of times, till the time you beat your previous score, which would never happen because every time you beat your old score you would have a brand new score to beat, that is devil's paradox that would never let you become the greatest Ninja in the whole of mankind.

Ninja Sensei would always be there to help you with wise words and some fun facts about fruits. Fruits looks delicious, ripe and of perfect color. I tried to slice them vertically but that didn't happen, no matter how you strike the blade, the fruit would cut through the horizontal plane. I love to give fruits a "critical hit," it automatically adds +10 to my score.

Sorry for being such mystical, the gameplay is fun and engaging, I couldn't help but play this game at once every time I booted up my computer, devil is so lucrative I must say.

There are a couple of upgrades that you can have in the Lite version, with your blade of awesomeness you can unlock new backgrounds and power up your blade. Fruit Ninja Lite HD is fun to play.

Graphics & In-Game Sound Effects

When I first tried this game out on Apple iPhone at iWorld, it looked beautiful, the graphics of Fruit Ninja were terrific but when I played it on my PC, the graphics weren't comparable, maybe it was because the difference in resolution, still the game is very much well playable on PC.

I am an avid viewer of "art of war" like television programs telecasted regularly on Discovery Channel, I love the way Sensei use the Katana to cut human body like wooden bars into pieces, this signifies that a Katana can be as deadly as an AK-47. The In-Game Sound effects of the blade hitting the fruit is catchy, I like it very much.

Conclusion a.k.a. The Verdict

On the whole, Halfbrick Games have created an excellent casual game, it is fun, entertaining, and you don't get bored, which is the best thing about Fruit Ninja. It is one game that you can use to refresh your mind from work, it won't take much time to complete and you can sneak in a gaming session during working hours (I am not sure, whether it would be wise decision, it won't matter to me because I would enter the work force after 4.5 years Winking smile).

Currently, Fruit Ninja HD Lite is available for Free for Windows via Intel AppUp Store (download link) and if you want to unlock the premium features you can purchase Fruit Ninja Premium for $4.99/- (download link).

I hope you enjoy this game as much as I do, and do share what you feel about this game. I am thankful to Intel for providing Windows users a dedicated App Store.
