Scientists at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne have observed a very dense celestial object in space J1719-1438 which is believed to be made up of crystallized carbon i.e. a gigantic diamond similar to the size of Jupiter and have named it "Diamond Planet."

The concept of Diamond Planets isn't a new one, since 1960s, Astrophysicists like Marc Kuchner have tried to explain its formation, Stars dense in carbon utilize all its resources, burn out and then turn into crystallized carbon a.k.a. Diamonds under the right pressure.

In 1992, a little white planets named BPM 37093 was discovered which resembled the characteristics mentioned by Marc Kuchner. It was believed that BPM 37093 had use all its resources, had burned out completely and cooled down over a period of 12 years to become a Diamond Planet. It became quite popular and was named "Lucy" after the jam performed by The Beatles.

Several Astronomers in Australia, Britain and Hawaii have discovered J1719-1438 too but they are unsure whether it is made up of real Diamonds or just Sparkly Mountains covered with Snow.
