HTC Merge QWERTY Android Phone Heading to Alltel Posted: 24 Mar 2011 12:12 AM PDT HTC has recently introduced the Merge (aka Lexikon), an Android smartphone with sliding QWERTY keyboardfor quick text input. To be released by Alltel, the HTC Merge will cost $124.99 with a 2-year contract. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm 800MHz processor and runs Android 2.2 with HTC Sense UI. It is HTC’s first Android-based CDMA world phone, meaning it also supports GSM/WCDMA network for roaming. While the Tab 8.9 is introduced for the first time, Samsung re-introduced the Tab 10.1, brining a complete new design and slimmer body. Both tablets run Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS with the company’s TouchWiz UX/4.0 user interface. These new Tabs are the world’s thinnest mobile tablets, measuring just 8.6 millimeters, according to Samsung. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 both are boosted by dual-core 1GHz application processor and come with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB internal storage. They feature 1280×800 capacitive touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel main camera with Auto Focus and LED flash, a 2 Megapixel front camera for video chat, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, and support for quad-band GSM/EDGE and quad-band HSPA+ mobile connectivity.
