K-Touch W700 Tegra 2 Android Phone from China

Chinese phone maker K-Touch has introduced its W700, an Android smartphone powered by dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. The W700 runs Android 2.2 with 512MB RAM and 8GB internal memory. It comes with a 3.8-inch 480×800 capacitive touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera with 720p video recording and a 0.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat.

The K-Touch W700 has a metal casing. It supports GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. Designed for China market, the dual-core phone comes pre-loaded with apps for Sina Weibo, QQ, Kaixin, Youku. You can also find FM tuner, microSD card slot, digital compass, accelerometer and ambient light sensor.

K-Touch’s W700 will be released in China in mid-April via China Unicom for about 3500 Chinese Yuan.

Fujitsu LifeBook AH572 Notebook with 3D Support.

Fujitsu launches its Lifebook AH572 15.6-inch notebook powered by Intel’s Sandy Bridge second generation Core i series processor. Boosted by a Core i5-2410M processor, the AH572 sports 4GB (max 8GB) DDR3 memory, 500GB hard drive and integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics.

Fujitsu’s new notebook is 3D-capable featuring a 15.6-inch display with 3D XPOL filter, a Blu-ray drive with 3D Blu-ray support and dual 1.3 Megapixel cameras for capturing pictures and recording videos in 3D. A pair of circular polarizing, passive 3D glasses is included. The LifeBook AH572 supports Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity as well as Intel’s Wireless Display (WiDi) technology. Other features include HDMI, USB 3.0 port, Memory Stick/SD card slot, spill-resistant keyboard with separate numeric 10-Key keypad and a 6-cell lithium-ion battery. It supports Anytime USB Charge through a USB port.

Pioneer SE-NC31C-K Noise-Cancelling In-ear Headphones

Pioneer launches the new SE-NC31C-K noise-cancelling in-ear headphones that offers active noise cancellation that removes up to 90% of ambient noise. The SE-NC31C-K features 14.3mm drivers for dynamic performance and deep bass. It comes with four ear tip sizes, in-flight plug adapter and a carrying pouch.

With in-line control, users can turn off noise-cancelling easily and there is a Monitor button that mutes the music and turns off noise-cancellation so that you can hear the sounds around you. The headphones offer 120 hours of battery life with one AAA battery.

The Pioneer SE-NC31C-K is priced at $114.50.

Sigma DP2x Compact Camera

Sigma is going to release in late April the new DP2x compact camera, the successor to the DP2 and DP2s. The new DP2x sports the 14 Megapixel FOVEON X3 direct image sensor (2,652× 1,768× 3 layers), a 24.2mm F2.8 large aperture lens, and the TRUE (Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine) II image processing engine which improves the processing speed and overall image quality.

The camera features 9 focusing points, ISO up to 3200, Analog Front End (AFE) and high-speed auto focus. According to Sigma, the AFE (Analog Front End) converts the color data, which full-color capture systems record, to a digital signal, enabling the camera to reproduce high definition and richly colored images. The DP2x offers three metering modes – Evaluative Metering, Center Weighted Average Metering and Spot Metering; and four exposure modes Program AE, Shutter Priority AE, Aperture Priority AE or Manual. It supports RAW format recording.

The Sigma DP2x comes with a 2.5-inch LCD display. It supports 320×240 QVGA video recording. It measures 113.3mm(W)×59.5mm(H)×56.1mm(D) and weighs 260g. Sigma will release the camera in late April for $800.

Intel announced its third generation solid state drives, the SSD 320 series based on 25nm NAND flash memory. Built on X25-M SATA SSD and based on 25nm NAND, the SSD 320 Series delivers more performance and uniquely architected reliability features while costing 30% less compare to current generation.

Intel’s new SSD comes in 40GB, 80GB, 120GB, 160GB, 300GB and 600GB capacities. It uses SATA II interface  and offers up to 270MB/s sequential read and 220MB/s sequential write speeds with up to 39,500 input/output operations per second (IOPS) random reads and 23,000 IOPS random writes on its highest-capacity drives. The SSD 320 series includes 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard capabilities to protect personal data in event of theft or loss.

Intel SSD 320 prices, based on 1,000-unit quantities, are as follows: 40GB at $89; 80GB at $159; 120GB at $209; 160GB at $289; 300GB at $529 and 600GB at $1,069.

Toshiba launches its 14-inch USB Mobile LCD monitor (model PA3923U-1LC3) with DisplayLink technology that allows the monitor’s power and video to be powered via USB, eliminating the need to carry an AC adapter or video cable. The monitor is ideal for users who want to add an additional/secondary screen to any Windows-based laptop at work, school or home.

The 14-inch display has 1366×768 native resolution, 220cd/m2 brightness, 400:1 contrast ratio, 16ms response time and 256k colors. Thanks to DisplayLink technology, the monitor gets video input and power directly from USB, so no VGA/DVI/HDMI video cable required. It comes with a hybrid carry case/stand.

Dolby Next Generation 3D Glasses

Dolby Laboratories introduces its next-generation Dolby 3D glasses for use with Dolby 3D Digital Cinema systems. The new 3D glasses utilize the newly developed 3M multilayer scratch resistant optical film lens with an antireflective coating, which “greatly reduces the weight of the glasses, increasing comfort while providing the excellent optical performance moviegoers expect from Dolby 3D.”

The new Dolby 3D Glasses has a new mechanical design. The new nylon frame features wide side temples and a shelf along the top edge of the frames, which help prevent extraneous light from entering the glasses, reducing internal lens reflections. According to the company, the new frames fit comfortably over 98 percent of prescription glasses and are well-suited to youth and adults. The glasses also include individually serialized RFID tags for inventory tracking and management.

New Dolby 3D glasses are avaialble at a list price of $12.00 or lower when purchased with a Dolby 3D bundle.

T-Mobile is going to bring the Nokia Astound smartphone to the US market. Known as C7-00 in other markets, the Astound is a Symbian^3.1 phone with a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel camera with 720p video recording, 8GB internal memory, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPS support and WiFi connectivity.

The Nokia Astound will be available on 6 April for $79.99 after a USD50 mail-in rebate card with a two-year contract.
